Update: There is no question it's a long shot, but Tigers P Dontrelle Willis is alive and definitely in the hunt for the last spot in Detroit's rotation. So far this spring Willis has looked good while throwing and it has not gotten past manager Jim Leyland. "I think he's (Willis) made huge progress," Leyland said."I've been very pleased with his command around the strike zone.I'm very thrilled. I'm trying to stay out of it, I'm going slow. But I've been very impressed. He's made strides.I think he's done great. I'm very thrilled with his progress."
Fantasy Impact: It's not quite time to rush out and add Willis to your roster, or even draft him for that matter, but if he continues to impress he may be a nice waiver wire pick-up as the season progresses. With all of his struggles since 2007 I can't suggest he is worth a draft pick, but he could be a nice back-of-the-rotation filler if he can show anything like he did early in his career.
