I never thought I would see Ricky Williams ruling the world of fantasy football in 2009, but that is what he is doing now that the Miami Dolphins have placed Ronnie Brown on injured reserve.

Update: According to Tim Twentyman of The Detriot News, Detriot Lions WR Calvin Johnson will be a game time decision Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks. Johnson practiced with first team offense on friday and will likely be in the starting lineup.
Fantasy Update: With the Lions playing the late afternoon game on Sunday it is a risk to wait and see if Lions Coach Jim Schwartz decides to let Johnson play with his right knee injury. Bottom line, Johnson is good enough for owners to take the risk even with rookie QB Matthew Stafford starting again.

You might not have noticed, but last week marked the passing of the halfway point for most fantasy football seasons. No doubt, a couple of managers in each league are already on the verge of elimination, if it hasn't happened already. But most of us are still alive and kicking, and while it helps to have a well-rounded team of athletes, you probably have one or two players in particular to thank for making your fantasy team competitive this season.

I think I'm seeing a pattern here, and I only noticed it a week too late. I did make a half-hearted attempt to obtain DeAngelo Williams in one of my leagues last week, but if I had just taken a look at 2008, I would have pushed harder.

Alright, so here are the facts. Five weeks into the season, you are in one of three places.

After the smoke cleared on MNF and the Brett Farve-Aaron Rodgers saga unfolded, the Packers lost 30-23 but, thanks to Aaron Rodgers' big night, NovaFantasySports' Danny Rogers and Tom Watkinson continued to win in the World Championship of Online Fantasy Football. Danny and Tom currently have 4 TEAMS in the overall TOP 35 at #6, #23, #24, #35 OVERALL and one team knocking on the door at #67 OVERALL.

Hit. Knowshown Moreno. The Bronco’s rookie running back is slated to start Sunday vs. New England, as Corell Buckhalter is considered doubtful. Look for Moreno to get plenty of touches, both on the ground and in the air.

Speaking of favorite all-time moments for NFL fans..........Brett Favre's triumphant return to Green Bay was one to remember. I did NOT see that coming. Favre became the first QB in history to defeat all 32 NFL teams. And just for kicks, the game wound up being the the most-watched program in cable history, registering a 15.3 on the ratings Richter......

For years, the Baltimore Ravens have been a run-first football team. Their mantra was to control the clock, play great defense, and limit turnovers. They won a lot of football games that way, mostly under the care of Brian Billick.

Tashard Choice will get the majority of carries today vs. the Denver Broncos. It's not the best match-up for Choice against the Broncos' run defense, but he is worth a look in PPR leagues.
