Update: The agent for reliever Billy Wagner, Bean Stringfellow, say's that there are six teams that have already inquired about his client.All 6 teams have said they are interested in Wagner as a closer. Wagner will be a Type A free-agent and will cost any team that signs him 2 first round draft picks but Stringfellow say's that hasn't deterred any of those teams.Any team might think twice about signing Wagner and giving the already farm-system rich Red Sox more ammo. It's always best to take agent talk with a grain of salt.
Update: According to FOXSports.com , Bobby Valentine and interim manager Jim Riggleman are the two finalists for the Nationals' head coaching job.
Fantasy Impact: The team seemed to play much better under Riggleman, who posted a 33-42 record since replacing Manny Acta.
Update: According to the Washington Post , Stephen Strasburg has been scratched from Saturday's Arizona Fall League's Rising Stars Game due to a strained muscle in his neck.
Update: The Washington Nationals have claimed LHP Doug Slaten off waivers from the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Fantasy Impact: Washington takes a shot on Slaten who had just 11 games with the Diamondbacks in 2009.
Update: So far, so good for No.1 overall pick Stephen Strasburg in the Arizona fall League. Even with an ERA over 6 ( one bad inning), Strasburg seems to be right in line as far as his developement. His stuff is electric, averaging 98mph on his fastball. His sinker clocks in around the upper 90's, with a change-up around 90. His curveball snaps off around the plate with good movement. The Nationals have to be happy with the results so far. For baseball fans everywhere you can only hope he is given the time he needs to develop before being brought to D.C.

Update: Steven Strasburg, the most anticipated pitcher to come around in a generation, made his AFL debut Friday night and he did not disappoint. Strasburg pitched 3.1 innings of shutout ball, giving up two singles, walked one, and struck out two. Buster Posey ,the Giants rookie C, had one of the hits but was erased on a double play.
Update: Overall No.1 draft pick Steven Strasburg is set to make his Arizona Fall League debut today against the Scottsdale Scorpions. Starsburg pitched 5 innings in the Florida Instructional League earlier this year for his first professional experience. He will be facing Giants catching prospect Buster Posey among others this evening.
Update: According to MLBlogs.com , Nationals' closer Mike MacDougal underwent hip surgery on Tuesday. He is expected to be ready for spring training.
