According to the Columbus Dispatch, "Blue Jackets forward R.J. Umberger remains a viable candidate for the U.S. Olympic hockey team, the man charged with assembling it said yesterday.
Team USA general manager Brian Burke said Umberger can play his way onto the team that will compete at the 2010 Olympics in February.
Umberger, who scored a career-high 26 goals last season, was one of the last players left off the 34-man roster that attended a three-day orientation camp this week, Burke said.
