April 1 is the informal deadline for Isaac Bruce to make a decision about retirement. The 49ers want to know if their leading receiver will walk away after a 15th NFL season.
Until then, they're willing to wait. Bruce, 36, was not at the 49ers' voluntary minicamp, which opened Friday.
"When you've done the things that he's done, you just kind of sit back and weigh your options and try to figure it out," coach Mike Singletary said. "He's still working out "... but he's just making sure he's fully committed when he comes back."
