Update: Updating an earlier story, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com is reporting that the Rays and the Pittsburgh Pirates have completed a deal that will send Rays 2B Akinori Iwamura to the Pirates. There is no word yet about who the Rays will recieve in return but it is thought that the Pirates will not give up an established player, so that would probably mean the Rays would not recieve closer Matt Capps. The Rays are in the market for a closer this winter, either by trade or free agent signing. The trade could be announced this evening if the Rays can get ahold of Iwamura in Japan to inform him of the trade.

Fantasy Impact: Iwamura wil be the Bucs full-time 2B but that should not change his fantasy value much. He is still a low end option at second base.
