According to the Washington Times, the Redskins are going to give Ladell Betts more carries in an attempt to keep Clinton Portis fresh all season.
Portis tired down the stretch last season and the Skins want to get Betts involved on third downs and even give him an additional series or two per half to keep Portis fresh.
Portis averaged 5.0 yards per carry in the first half last season, but just 3.5 in the second. He also failed to eclipse more than 80 yards in any of the season's final five games.
