Head coach John Harbaugh is hopeful that Derrick Mason will postpone retiring from the NFL, according to ESPN. Harbaugh said, "I think it is real honorable what he is doing in the sense that it would be easy for a guy to just come in and go through the motions. Derrick does not want to go through the motions. He wants to make sure he is in the right frame of mind to compete at the level he has competed at his whole career, which is a warrior-type level."
The coach really wants Mason to return to Baltimore, but will respect his decision if he intends to hang up his cleats.
