Carlos Boozer told the Utah Jazz on Tuesday that he would return to the team instead of opting out of the final year of his contract and becoming a free agent.
He is scheduled to make US$12.7 million next season, his sixth with the Jazz. This was a huge turn of events, as Boozer was previously as quoted saying there was no chance he would come back to Utah and instead would opt for free agency. Perhaps the limited number of teams who could swallow his salary forced him back to Utah.
