The New York Daily News is reporting that Mets' pitcher Oliver Perez has rejoined the team in anticipation of his activation next week. Perez has been confirmed as the starter for Wednesday's game against the Dodgers.
The Mets are in dire need of pitching help, so that is why Perez will get the ball even though he struggled in his last rehab start. His first start back with the Mets comes against Manny and the Dodgers which isn't the team he was hoping to see on the schedule.
If the Mets have any chance at competing down the stretch in the NL East, they need Perez to be effective.
