Update: Marlon Byrd is now a free agent and can sign anywhere he pleases. But he makes no bones about where he wants to play, and that is in Texas. The Ranger center-fielder said,"I told my agent I want to be in Texas"... "I told them if there was anything of substance with the Rangers, give me a call."Byrd is looking for a multi-year deal and he will take a two year contract. If people offer me a contract at two years and the right numbers, I'll sign," Byrd said. "If people offer me three years at the right numbers, I'll sign.
Fantasy Impact:Byrd enjoyed his best year as a pro in '09. He had 500+ AB's for the first time in his career and he reponded with 20HR's,89 RBI's,and a .283 AVG.With the hope that he can repeat or improve on those numbers fantasy managers can look at Byrd as a decent 3 or 4 outfielder for their teams.
