Update: Jeremy Hermida has been traded from the Florida Marlins to the Boston Red Sox for pitchers Hunter Jones and Jose Alvarez.Hermida has long been thought of as a "just wait" prospect, but with the exception of 2007 has been a disappointment to Marlins fans and management. Jones came up to the Bosox this past year and was hit fairly hard and consitently, while Alvarez spent the year in Class A ball and went 9-4 with a nice 2.26 Hermida will probably not be a regular in Boston. If the Red Sox do not re-sign Jason Bay, they will undoubtedly go after another corner man.
Fantasy Impact: Until Hermida gets regular time in Boston it will be Ok to ignore him. He is 0 for 7 lifetime in Fenway. Jones could be a piece of the Marlins bullpen next year. You will want to see what piece he fits into before making any decisions. Alvarez is still a few years away.
