Update: Mets Reliever J.J. Putz is attracting attention from several teams, including the Phillies, Pirates, Rangers, and Astros.Putz is a free agent this off-season, and although he would like to close again, he has said he would be open to returning to the 8th inning man role the Mets were hoping he would handle for Frankie Rodriquez. The Phillies and Pirates don't appear to be in the market for a closer with Brad Lidge and Matt Capps respectively holding down those spots. The Astros could lose set up man LaTroy Hawkins, while the Rangers are solid at the back end of their bullpen with Frank Francisco and C.J. Wilson.
Fantasy Impact:Putz is coming off elbow surgery on his throwing arm.He has been solid in the past as both a closer and set-up man. Drafting him obviously will depend on his role and your league needs, but if he is healthy he should be worthy of a late-round selection at the least.
