Update: It's done. Someone has finally made the comparison.David O'Brien, writing for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, wrote in an article that he see's similarities between young Braves phenom Jason Heyward and Hall-of-Famer-to-be Ken Griffey Jr. The comparison not only is about baseball skills , but overall maturity. Coach Eddie Perez is similarly impressed.“He’s a very smart guy who wants to learn,” Perez said. “He belongs here. This is it. This is where he wants to be.."
Fantasy Impact: Heyward is not someone who is going to go away and he will begin to snake up draft boards as the spring progresses. If Heyward opens the season in right field with the Braves (and that is looking more and more likely) and if he gets 450 AB's this year, he would seem to be in line for 15+ HR's,15 SB's,75 RBI, and perhaps a .275-.285 average. Not "blow-you-away" type numbers, but very solid numbers for a number 3 or 4 outfielder on any team.As of today Heyward is still a 20th round or so selection in regular leagues.
