Update: After stepping on a baseball on Wednesday and twisting his ankle, Boston Red Sox third baseman Adrian Beltre is saying that it is feeling much better and that it was "not as bad as it looked." That's good news for the Sox as they continue to prepare for their first spring game next week. manager Terry Francona thinks that Beltre should be able to hit the field on Saturday."He's OK," Red Sox manager Terry Francona said. "He's really fighting to get on the field. I would think he'll be out there tomorrow with no restrictions."
Fantasy Impact:The good news is Beltre is feeling better. The better news is the ball didn't pop up when he stepped on it and hit him in the testicles.Sorry, couldn't resist that one. Most fantasy players have long forgotten Beltre's contract walk year in Los Angeles back in 2004. Anyone hoping for the numbers he put up 6 years ago should stop holding their breath now.Beltre's numbers could improve in Boston as it is a more hitter friendly park, just be aware that in a small sample size,Beltre has hit less than .180 with 0 HR's in his career in Fenway. He is best left until the 15th -19th rounds in deeper mixed leagues and is worth a look around rounds 9-11 in A.L. only leagues.
