The Red Sox would reportedly like to acquire Padres' star first baseman Adrian Gonzalez, according to the Boston Herald.
Apparently the Sox are not done targeting corner infielders after getting Adam LaRoche from Pittsburgh. There are reports that the Sox did in fact inquire about Gonzalez, but they have been unable to put together a package to entice the Padres to deal him. The Padres did not state that they have desire to move Gonzalez, who is the cornerstone of their offense.
