With the 2009 draft less then two months away there is much talk regarding a number of prospects, from John Tavares and Victor Hedman to Matt Duchene and Magnus Svensson Pääjärvi. But as previous drafts have shown it’s not always the top 2 or 3 picks that change a franchise, in fact sometimes not even the top 2 or 3 rounds. Throughout the years draft picks have shown that they can be top notch studs, or disappointing duds, we have seen steals and sleeper picks in later rounds; and disappointments chosen high.
